To meet increasing demand, DTU continues to enroll students into General Nursing courses this year. The University has created the Center of Visualization & Simulation (CVS), using 3D virtual reality applications to streamline teaching methods and medical education in general. DTU has adopted the advanced PBL, (Problem-Based Learning method), applied in life and health sciences at many of the world's leading universities.
To improve the qualifications and abilities of both lecturers and students, the DTU Faculty of Nursing has been collaborating with several well-established American medical universities, to share their curricula and invite their lecturers to come over to teach. Partners include:
- The University of Pittsburgh, ranked fifth in the top 15 US universities in medical research.
- The University of Illinois in Chicago, which has the largest number of medical and pharmacology programs in the US, in terms of students and the number of majors.
- The Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore.
- The Seirei Social Welfare Community in Japan.
DTU also works with the Organization to Assist the Integration of Vietnamese Women and Children in Germany, to share courses in nursing and nutrition, and also organizes international conferences in the Health Sciences.
The General Nursing course teaches healthcare requirements, about medical checkups, prescription preparation and patient rehabilitation. Lecturers work to broaden their specialized knowledge and develop the appropriate communication, team-working, research and ethical skills.
In addition, DTU partners with local hospitals, where students work with experienced medical staff and practice with patients. These include the Danang Hospital, the Danang C Hospital, the 17th Military Zone Hospital, the 199th Hospital of the Ministry of Public Security and the Hue Central Hospital. DTU has also signed an agreement with SEIREI and the local Kinki branch of the Japanese National Council for the Elderly and Blind, to offer internships and employment in Japan to qualified General Nursing graduates, who can work as:
- Nurses in hospitals, medical centers, clinics and other healthcare facilities.
- Chief nurses who manage, care and help formulate treatment policies.
- Lecturers who directly teach and study Health Sciences and Nursing.
