Today, our students are graduating at a time when Vietnam is facing the challenge of defending our sovereignty. Although the Chinese placed the oil drilling rig HD 981 near Vietnam’s islands and performed illegal actions against Vietnamese fishermen, we should not be confused by the motto of 16 golden words, 4 good spirits and the friendship between Vietnam and China. Vietnam now has a population of more than 90 million. As a nation of able and intelligent people, we must broaden our knowledge of world affairs and be able to appeal for the support of other countries to obtain justice. Every new DTU graduate should strive to learn more about how you can develop your personal capabilities to contribute to the development of Vietnam and overcome our potential enemies.”
