The 2016 National ViOlympic Online Mathematics Contest at DTU

On April 8th, the Danang Department of Education and Training and DTU held the 2016 National ViOlympic Online Mathematics of the Danang region, with 451 students from primary, secondary and high schools participating. Initiated by the Ministry of Education and Training to enhance IT in education, the contest is open to 9 to 15 year-olds nationwide and, since 2008, it has attracted more than 20 million contestants from 702 districts nationwide.

Questions included solving mathematical problems, in English for grade 4th and 8th grade students and in Vietnamese for 5th, 9th and 11th graders. Qualified participants proficient in Mathematics, in English and computer use were invited.  

DTU provided seven exam rooms with high-end computers and efficient internet connections, and technicians were on hand to support contestants during the contest. The contest was a great success and demonstrated the ability of DTU to host national and international competitions.
