The ceremony

“Humanistic, quality education, linked with practical research has been our policy for the 22 years of our development. DTU has nurtured the social sciences and humanities to broaden the development of our students, to educate them and perfect their personal and spiritual development. DTU inspires a love for literature, to help students to see the beauty of a world in social upheaval, demonstrating how our values are compatible with those of writers’ associations and literary magazines.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co said: “With two wars of resistance, the image of a fierce and valiant people, who sacrificed all in the defense of every inch of our homeland, is apparent in many a literary work. Literature in the Doi Moi period explored traditional values and the reality of our country, but still continues to awaken an ardent patriotism, a communal sense of responsibility, oriented towards the literary and spiritual activities of the people. Through this collaboration with the Writers’ Associations, I hope that the ‘DTU Book Case’ will receive additional new works on the resistance movement, about the intellectuals, writers and students in our southern cities from 1954 to 1975, describing their beautiful lives!”

DTU and the Writers’ Associations agreed to collaborate on a number of topics. The Associations will organize monthly literary events for DTU students. Writers and researchers will visit for book discussions. They will also contribute to the “DTU Book Case”, introducing high quality books to DTU students and lecturers. DTU will work closely with the Associations to organize joint activities and the promotion and distribution of the Non Nuoc and Song Huong magazines at the university.
The agreement with Writers’ Association is an important bridge between the university, the writers and literary magazines. It will also inspire a spirit of humanitarianism in the younger generation and train them to continue studying according to the heroic traditions of our nation.
