Educational Collaboration for Socio-Economic Development in Mekong Delta

On May 16th, a meeting was held between An Giang University, local government officials and a DTU delegation at An Giang University in Long Xuyen.

DTU summarized their experience in Technological Engineering, in the fields of Spectroscopy, Nano Materials, Nuclear Physics, The Archaeology of Precious Stones, Genetic Technology, Bacteria for Agriculture, Entomology, Cancer Research, Pharmacology, Cooperative Communication, Cognitive Radio, Biomedical Chemicals, 3D Printing and Photography, Oceanography, Geology, Environmental Materials, Mechanics, Composition and Attrition, IT in Construction, Fire and Earthquake Resistant Materials, IT Application Consulting, Application Software Development, Website Design, GIS Software Development, Computer Games, Graphics, 3D Movies, the Design and Implementation of Mechanical-Electrical Automation  Projects, the  Design and Application of Electronic Circuits and others.
 
  
Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Provost, presents gifts to An Giang University 

DTU and An Giang University agreed to work together to implement technology research projects in the above-mentioned areas, in order to accelerate socioeconomic development in An Giang and neighboring provinces in the Mekong Delta. DTU will team up with An Giang University in consulting on general solutions for the development of IT applications in An Giang province, specifically in e-government, environmental forecasting and monitoring of droughts, salination, landslides and forest fires, the testing and management of tea plantations and fish breeding ponds, the surveying of irrigation systems and so on. In addition, the universities will promote IT research, electronics and communications applications in the automation of agriculture, aquaculture and crop management systems, using the VietGAP protocol. 

Science and technology projects will be planned to improve the everyday lives of the local people and the socioeconomic development of the Mekong Delta in general.
