Ten teams from Vietnam and other ASEAN countries will enter the finals of the 2019 ASEAN Student Information Security contest on November 29.
At the 2019 North ASEAN Students Information Security contest on November 3, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong, Head of the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) and the contest jury, announced the ten finalists. They are the Just ∫du It! team from the University of Engineering and Technology at VNU in Hanoi, KMA PeBois from the Academy of Cryptography Techniques in Hanoi, UIT-BEAN from the University of Information Technology at VNU in HCMC, Nupakachi from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, H2DP from the Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in HCMC, z3r0_night from FPT University in Hanoi and the ISITDTU and ISITDTU2 teams from Duy Tan University.
Seven ASEAN countries have so far accepted invitations from the Ministry of Information and Communications to participate in the contest, although the final number will be determined when registration is complete.
Preparation for this contest was begun six months ago by VNIS and the Department of Information Security, who arranged for Viettel, VNPT and Vietnam Airlines to sponsor the event, including travel, accommodation and meal expenses for the visiting foreign teams.
For the first time, the contest organizers have published an international website in English, with information and instructions on the rules of the finals and will also answer any other questions by email.
