On November 13th, Duy Tan University officially announced its new Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation First Aid Training System. The system product was researched and developed by the DTU Center for Visualization & Simulation (CVS).
According to CVS, anyone of us can suffer a sudden and dangerous accident anytime, like a stroke, circulatory shutdown or drowning, leading to cardiac or pulmonary arrest, necessitating emergency first-aid before going to hospital. However, if wrongly applied, first-aid can make injuries worse or even kill the victim. First aid skills are vital, and universities, business and health services alike must teach personnel how to quickly respond to unexpected incidents.
eCPR is a project which has created a system product for the general public, incorporating hardware and software, IoT and virtual reality. It aims to teach first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills to people of all ages. Practice on the system will provide users a deeper understanding of the need for healthcare and the ability to deal with emergencies in a timely way, minimizing risks to patient health and finances.
The system was developed based on a combination of 3D virtual reality and IoT (Internet of Things) technology, with sensors attached to a real-time model.
