The JOOSS Education & Training Support Online seminar

On April 11, the JOOSS Education & Training Support Online seminar was held at DTU. Mr. Shohei Yabuki, Director of JOOSS Vietnam; Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost; Dr. Le Vinh An, Director of the Vietnam-Japan Strategic Cooperation Institute (VJISC); DTU staff, lecturers and students attended.  
 
Sponsored by Nagata Holdings, JOOSS will introduce students to Japanese universities or help them improve their Japanese for future work, strengthening educational and cultural cooperation.

Mr. Shohei Yabuki, Director of JOOSS Vietnam, said: “We are very happy to partner with DTU, which has achieved much over the past 26 years. We will open an office at DTU and create new programs to broaden study and career opportunities. Students will be bridged with well-known Japanese universities and companies and will rapidly accumulate the specialized professional skills, master the Japanese language and build a foundation for a professional career on graduation.”
 
Japanese language development and internships in Japan  
 
Participating in the JOOSS Education & Training Support program, students will be taught Japanese at the DTU Learning & Testing Center (LTC). JOOSS will bring Japanese teachers to DTU and supply the necessary materials and tools for online training, including smartphones and cassette players. The participants will be able to:
 
- Learn Japanese up to the JLPT N4 level, at no cost
- Go on exchange to Japan for two weeks to one month at the end of the second term or the beginning of the third
- Intern with financial support at companies in Japan for six to twelve months, be awarded business internship certificates and reach an N2 level in Japanese
- Qualified students will then be able to sign labor contracts and work with Japanese companies in Japan for at least five years, for an average salary of 25 million VND per month.

Students can transfer to a Japanese university according to the 2+1+2 model, including 2 years of introductory and basic courses and Japanese language training to the N3 level at DTU, 1 year of study to N2 level in Japan followed by 2 years of specialized courses there.
 
Graduates who achieve either an N2 or N1 certificate will be awarded a double degree by DTU and the Japanese university. They will earn 20 million VND a month working in Vietnam and 40 million VND in Japan. They will also be eligible for part-time jobs while studying in Japan for up to 18 million VND a month.

DTU and the JOOSS Education Training Support program will help students realize their dreams through student exchanges, internships and study abroad programs.
