Five Vietnamese Universities Enter the CWUR Top 2000 in 2021

In the academic year 2021-2022, the top five of Vietnamese universities ranked by the Center of World University Rankings (CWUR) in the top 2,000 of 25,000 universities worldwide are: 
 
1. Vietnam National University in Hanoi, 1,266th,    
2. Ton Duc Thang University, 1,426th, 
3. Duy Tan University, 1,482nd      
4. Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, 1,619th 
5. Hanoi University of Science and Technology 1,954th

Top five of Vietnamese Universities to enter the CWUR’s 2,000 Best Universities in 2021
 
Compared to 2020, four Vietnamese universities in the CWUR’s 2000 Best Universities have impressively improved their rankings. Duy Tan University moved up 177 positions to 1,482nd in this year’s rankings.  Ton Duc Thang University jumped 176 places to 1,426th. The Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City jumped 115 ranks from last year’s ranking to 1,619th in the ranking. The Vietnam National University in Hanoi jumped 59 places to 1,266th. For the third year in a row, (2019, 2020 and 2021), DTU is in third place in Vietnam according to the CWUR and ranks in the top 7.5% of 19,788 universities worldwide.  
 
CWUR is now the largest international university ranker. The CWUR’s rankings are based on four criteria: 
 
- Quality of Education (25%): measured by the number of university alumni who have won major international awards, prizes and medals, relative to the university's size.  
- Alumni Employment (25%): measured by the number of university alumni who hold CEO positions in the world's top companies, relative to the university's size.  
- Quality of Faculty (10%): measured by the number of academics who have won major international awards and medals. 
- Research Performance (40%):
• Research output (10%): measured by the total number of research papers. 
• High-quality publications (10%): measured by the number of research papers published in top-tier journals.
• Influence (10%): measured by the number of research papers appearing in highly influential journals.
• Citations (10%): measured by the number of highly-cited research papers.
