Finals of the International Information Security Contest at DTU

On December 18, ten teams arrived at DTU to take part in the finals of the International Information Security contest, ISITDTU CTF 2022, after beating 170 other teams from all over the world. Ultimately, the KCSCxP team from the Academy of Cryptography Techniques won first prize, with 2,882 points.

The ten teams 
 
“Information Security in cyberspace is now a vital issue, which is essential in a country’s development and prosperity,” said  Ms. Do Hai Anh, who came from the Information Security Authority at the Ministry of Information & Communications. "Cyberspace has been identified as the medium which will lead Vietnam to prosperity, so we must concentrate on cultivating highly-qualified network security professionals.”
 
The annual ISITDTU CTF began in 2018, and is aimed at information security and cyber-security experts, as well as students from Vietnam and abroad who have a passion for IT.

The 2022 contest was organized the Information Security Authority and the Danang Department of Information & Communications and sponsored by the VNPT-IT company. The qualifying round was held online for two days from November 12 to 13, with 30% of the teams from businesses and universities nationwide.

The prizes were as follows:
 
- First to the KCSCxP team from the Academy of Cryptography Techniques, with 2,882 points
- Second to the U0K++ team from Vuver Accessories, with 2,832 points,
- Third to the Purf3ct team from the CNSC network security center, with 2,357 points.
Associate Professor Nguyen Gia Nhu, Provost of the DTU School of Computer Science, remarked. “The contest continues to attract teams from all over the world and enables young people to meet and share information and skills,” “I hope that we can continue to work more closely together to train and develop  professionals and supply business with the best possible network security talent.”
