“May Melodies” Celebrates the 134th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh

On the evening of May 18, 2024, Duy Tan University hosted a cultural program to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) with the theme “May Melodies.” The event also honored outstanding students who received the "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" award for 2024. The event took place at 3 Quang Trung, Da Nang City. Attendees included Labor Hero and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU Chairman; Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice Provost;  along with leaders from various units, and a large number of faculty and students from the university.

The cultural program, themed “May Melodies,” featured performances by artists from the Hue Traditional Music Troupe, including Pipa artist Hong Le (lecturer at Hue Conservatory); Zither artist Ha Trung; Erhu artist Dinh Hung (lecturer at Hue Conservatory); Poet Vo Que (Chairman of the Hue Singing Club); Distinguished Artisan Kim Vang; Distinguished Artisan Quynh Hoa; Distinguished Artisan Kim Hong; artists Mai Sao, Dieu Binh, Kim Quy, Trang Thuy, Huong Thuy, and many others.

At the event, Labor Hero and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU Chairman, said: “On this special day, we all remember our beloved Uncle Ho, who founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Communist Party. He dedicated his life to the nation and the people. Therefore, the generation of students born and raised in peace must strive to fulfill Uncle Ho's wishes: 'As long as there are mountains, rivers, and people, we will build a better future after defeating the Americans!' DTU, with this aspiration, hopes that students will be able to serve society and the country after graduating.”

The “May Melodies” program brought heroic tunes through the performances of DTU students and artists from the Hue Singing Club, featuring deeply emotional performances such as: the ensemble piece “Luu Thuy Kim Tien Xuan Phong Long Ho”; the reconstructed ancient piece “Autumn Afternoon Memory”; the folk song “Water and Mountains Thousands of Miles”; and the piece “Boating at Moonrise” (Lyrics by Princess Mai Am - Kim Quy - Thuy Hong).
 
Each performance was meticulously prepared, carrying its own significance to express gratitude to beloved Uncle Ho, as well as love for the homeland and the legendary path of Ho Chi Minh's history.
 
On this occasion, DTU's Youth Union also awarded individuals who received the "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" award for 2024.
