Several exciting and interesting activities took place at DevDay 2024

Mr. Markus Baur, CEO of Axon Active Vietnam, expressed optimism about the event: "DevDay initiated by Axon Active Vietnam and co-organized with DTU for the 7th consecutive season. We are impressed by the enthusiastic collaboration from the University to make today's event successful. Choosing the theme 'Innovation' for Devday 2024, we not only address new trends but also provide a more positive outlook on the future of the IT industry, with higher efficiency, better quality, and more interesting challenges for our work. The advent of AI may render routine programming jobs obsolete, but the demand for truly technical jobs will persist. Communication skills and professional expertise will be increasingly important, making years of experience in a specific field essential and highlighting the disadvantages of frequent shifts or personnel changes. Therefore, my advice to young people is to see AI as an opportunity. Put yourself in the shoes of real engineers, invest in your communication skills, and gain deep knowledge in a field you're passionate about. By doing so, you'll be well-positioned to thrive in the AI-driven transformation."

At DevDay 2024, the "Competition of Optimize Power Use with AI and Data Science" organized by TAS Design Company Japan attracted 45 registered teams from universities in the Da Nang and HCMC regions. Passing the qualifiers selected by TAS Design Group experts, DTU had 3 teams and Da Nang University of Technology had 2 teams in the Model Development Round. The results included 3 teams advancing to the Finals with encouraging awards:

First prize went to students from Da Nang University of Technology.
"Best Active Team" award went to the DTU team led by Truong Quoc Thang and members.
"Best Planning Team" award went to the DTU team led by Dang Tran Hoai An and members.

Truong Quoc Thang from DTU shared, "We built a predictive model using Random Forest: a powerful and flexible machine learning algorithm commonly used in classification and regression tasks to predict electricity demand and solar power output. Random Forest works by constructing multiple decision trees on different subsets of data and then combining the results from these trees to make a final prediction. We were thrilled to participate in this fascinating competition and experience a unique Devday at DTU to gain valuable IT-related knowledge through presentations by speakers and approach opportunities with businesses to seize job opportunities for ourselves."

Associate Professor Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vice Provost, stated, "Since 2015, DevDay has progressively grown into a major IT event in Da Nang, and DTU is honored to co-organize this year's event with Axon Active Vietnam. The university is delighted to witness this event's increasing growth and development year by year. Through this collaboration, DTU aims to promote the development of the Information Technology sector in Da Nang and contribute to the economic development of the region.
