A remote sensor is used to measure, record and report on patient health factors which affect sleep quality. It screens for heart rate, blood pressure, strokes, apnea and myocardial infarction risks, alerting medical staff to abnormal and potentially fatal health conditions. It also opens and closes bedroom curtains automatically, according to the user’s sleeping habits.

Student Phan Van Thinh said: “In researching and developing the “SMartbed”, we planned a product that detects abnormal symptoms immediately to prevent and reduce dangerous diseases, by monitoring sleep habits on a daily basis. We reached the finals of the 2020 National Startup Competition, with a third prize. We hope that we will succeed in finding international investors to turn our idea into reality at the 2021 Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC)."
