A 23-year-old Female Graduate volunteers to Enlist in the Army

Having graduated from DTU with a good Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, Ho Thi Thanh Hang decided to join the military service in 2024. 
 
"Receiving the news that I was selected for the military service, I was emotionally flooded, and the long-held desire of mine has now become a reality," said Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Hang, a 23 - year - old lady, from Dong Phu town, Que Son district, Quang Nam province.
 
Fulfilling a childhood dream
 
Ms. Thanh Hang said that she has always admired her father, a soldier. After 12 years of diligent study, Hang applied to a military academy, but luck was not yet on her side. Temporarily setting aside her dream, she enrolled in Tourism and Hotel Management at DTU.

Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Hang feels happy when her lifelong dream comes true
 
During her 4 years at DTU, Ms. Thanh Hang served as the Secretary of the Youth Union chapter, actively participated in the university's Youth Union and Student Association activities, and graduated with excellent grades (GPA of 3.87/4.0).

"After graduating, I stayed in Da Nang and worked as a hotel receptionist, which was in line with my major. The dream of wearing a military uniform once again surged within me, and I decided to express my desire to volunteer for military service to my parents and I got their agreement. 
 
My father gave me a lot of advice, especially about being ready for any task assigned to me, not shying away from any work, and being active in order to live up to the honor of being called 'Uncle Ho's soldiers'."

After graduating Ms. Thanh Hang decided to apply for voluntary military service
 
"This Sunday on February 25, I will be heading to Ho Chi Minh City to start a 3-month military training period. I will try my best as my father advised. If you have chosen a path for yourself, then give it your all. And if given the chance, I will commit myself for the long term to the military," Ms. Thanh Hang expressed.

Mrs. Phuong, Ms Hang’s mother, is delighted when her daughter achieves her childhood dream
 
According to Mrs. Phuong, both she and her husband encouraged their daughter to be strong and diligent in fulfilling all tasks assigned by her superiors, to be worthy of the dream she has pursued since childhood.
 
Quang Nam province issued 2,681 call-up papers for military service in 2024. Of these, 2,554 are for active duty (2,550 men, 4 women), and 127 for reserve forces.
 
Regarding educational qualifications: 276 completed their university education or vocational training; 1,269 completed their high school education; and 1,136 completed their junior high school education.
